Comment on 7x5 Photo BookRe: Recommended margins for bordered images

Since a 5 x 7 book is considered a mini book, you may want to bump it up to 1/4 since the trim is much more aggressive on small books.

Recommended margins for bordered images
Posted:04 Apr 2012 (18:26 UTC)I am assembling a 5x7 book as an architectural brochure for my firm. We've assembled the document in In-Design and exported it as a PDF. We've each left side page is a full-bleed image, and the right side page has images and text with a consistent border around it. The question that I have is this: we've tacked on an extra 1/8" to all sides of each page for cropping (per PrestoPhoto 's suggestion). Beyond that, how much of a white border is recommended to achieve a consistent look? Currently I'm assuming an additional 1/8" border. Should that be bumped up to 1/4"? Thanks for the feedback.
