You should be able to without a problem. If you still have access to the old project you can open it up, click on one of the pages that you used the "old template" on, then look to the right and the title of the template will be listed there.
From what you are describing to me I believe that what you are interested in is the "Auto-Fit" template page. This is free Book Designer Template http://www.prestophoto.com/designer/template/799 and can be easily identified by the magic wand icon in it.
This template will enable you to drop 1 or multiple images onto the page and will automatically fit them so that none will need to be cropped!

Cannot identify the template that I used a couple of years back -
Posted:24 Nov 2012 (00:12 UTC)I created an album "Landscape & Wildlife Photography - Volume 1" and the template let me include portrait style images and maintained the full image. My new Volume 2 photo book is forcing me to trim my portraits to a landscape view and cutting off over half the image. Can I apply the older template to this newer book?
