print quality problems

So what was the final verdict? Why did your book have these flaws?

I just received my first PrestoPhoto book: 9x7 imagewrap hardcover on photo silk paper. The colors are quite good, the cover is very nice, the binding looks good. However, there are a number of flaws. The complete pages were submitted as single jpgs, and each has a photo with a white border on a charcoal background (http://www.prestophoto.com/shop/69771). Most of the problems are in that charcoal background. On every page, there is a very noticeable darker streak extending down from the white border on left pages and up on right pages. There is also unevenness in the charcoal background. On a couple pages there are white flecks. Second, in some photos a pattern appears in light colors; it looks like a weave. Other than that, the photos themselves look good.
Any explanation?
