Cristy,

Greetings from PrestoPhoto and thanks for your interest.

Create your pages 1/4" larger than the book you plan to create and keep all important items (heads & text) away from the outer 1/4" on all sides and nothing will get wacked.

Example question

I want an 8.5"x11" book, should I create an 8.75"x11.25"X 300dpi jpeg file for full bleed? (And not choose "full bleed option" when I create a photo book ?) Or should I create 8.5"x11" X 300 DPI jpeg and select "full bleed" option?

We recommend creating your jpeg at 300dpi and 8.75x11.25. If you don't select full bleed then you will see the extra 1/4 inch. If you select full bleed the outer 1/4" will be trimmed off.

Here is a link to our page on cropping and bleed http://www.prestophoto.com/wiki/index.php?structure_id=303

If you have other questions please let us know!

I am so confused. If I upload a JPEG picture (a scrapbook page saved as a JPEG) and using your drag and drop method in the "vio designer" photobooks, do I still need to take into account the 1/2" safe zone? Also do I need to make the pictures 1/4" larger?

for example I am uploading 8.5" x 11" jpegs to put in your 8.5" x 11" photobook. Do I acutally need to be uploading 8.75" x 11.25" jpegs? And will 1/8" be cropped from the drag and drop zone?
