Die-Cut Cover Questions Continued
Comment on Book Binding and CoversDie-Cut Cover Questions Continued
Posted:13 Nov 2010 (15:29 UTC)Hi -
I'm sorry ... I think I confused you!
I realize there's no image on a die-cut cover (a DCC) — the image (a leaf, in your example) on the cover page shows thru the "cut" on the cover. I also understand that there is no text on the spine of this book. But I still am confused about two things:
1. I want more than JUST a leaf on my cover page - I want a line or two of text on the lower right of the page, too.
Since I've now got an image (the leaf) AND a personalization (To my best friend, Sally) on the cover page, you probably want the cover page sent as a PDF, correct? If I were planning on JUST an image, you want a JPG of the image. But for a cover page with an image AND text ... ?
This leads to my second question.
2. You said in your reply to my earlier post, "It is impossible to give an exact measurements for the window because the covers are pre-made and they are not exact."
So does this mean that I shouldn't follow the numbers on your template at http://www.prestophoto.com/storage/users/136/1136/images/831921/12x12%20Diecut.pdf) ??
I can't count on a DCC hole of 4.5x3.5, centered horizontally and located 3 inches from the top of a 12.25x12.25 template??
3. And finally, I am looking for confirmation that the text/images on a 12.25x12.25 template will be centered, given that the book is bound on one side ..
Sorry for such a long post. My "leaf" is actually 2 lines of text which I really would like centered in the DCC opening, and I'm struggling with how to do it. Thanks for your patience and answer.
