Which way will the first page of PDF face?

Judy is correct. Here is an annoted screenshot that should help explain it visually.

As you open the book the first page is on the right hand side. It will not be on the back of the cover. When I label my pages I usually do it page 1 RIGHT, page 2 LEFT, so I don't get confused. I also do this because I personally leave an extra margin where the page is going to be near the binding. So, on the right hand side page, I leave a little more room near the left side of that page.

I want to submit a PDF file to print a photo book. I read that IF I check "use first page as cover", it will pick off the first page and shift the rest of the PDF file down. Which side of the book will the page after the cover be on, left or right as the book is open. In other owrds, will the page after the cover print on the back of the cover or will it print on the right of the book?
