iPad Pages Help

Documentation for using the PrestoPhoto iOS App on iPad to manage, edit, and purchase your photo books all on your iOS device.

Getting Started

There is guided audio with this video, you will need to unmute the video if you wish to hear the commentary.

The PrestoPhoto App allows you to generate and manage Photo Book projects as well as purchase them when completed. Once a project is generated from our app, you will edit the app in Apple's Native Pages App that is free and comes stock on any iOS device. Once you are done editing your photo book, you can return to our app and purchase your photo book to be shipped right to your door!

In App Help

When you first open the app, you will be guided through a Welcome Guide that will give you a brief overview of the steps you will take to create a photo book. You can view this overview at anytime by navigating to the Help tab in the app.

In Addition to the Welcome guide, you can also acces Live Chat and additional Help Articles from the help tab.

Project Management

All of your projects you have created on your iOS Device should appear in the My Projects tab of the app.

Create Project

In the My projects tab click the plus button, choose a template, name your project, and then choose the location on the device you would like to save the project.

Review Project

The easiest way to access an existing project is to go to the My Projects tab and tap the project you wish to preview. Once in the preview view, you can scroll through your project as well as the following options:

Edit Project

In the My projects tab, tap the project you wish to edit, then in the overview hit the edit option to open the files app, you can then select the project and it will open in pages.

Review Project

Tap a pre-existing project in the My Projects tab. Then you can tap the Ready For Purchase to see a full preview of the project without having to go into the pages app.

Buy and Checkout

Tap a pre-existing project in the My Projects tab. Then you can tap the Ready For Purchase to see a full preview of the project.After reviewing, you will need to login if you have not already. Once you are logged in you can upload and choose the physical product options and then move to payment.

Delete Project

Tap a pre-existing project in the My Projects tab and then hit the delete option.

Pages App Basics

You can alter the view of your pages work space by hiding the thumbnails or by turning on single page view as seen in the video.

Photos and Images

Once you are in the pages app, you can create your Photo Book from start to finish. If you are familiar with the Pages app already then you should have no problem adding in photos and text to our templates. Below are some basic editing techniques that should get you started.

Place Images

You can place images into the predefined image boxes by tapping once on the plus symbol you see in the bottom right corner of the image box. You can then choose an image from the photos on your device.

Replace Images

Tap the image you wish to replace. Next tap the paintbrush image and make sure you are on the image tab. You should see a repalce button. Once, pressed you can choose an image from your device.

Remove Images

To remove a placed image simply tap on the image in order to bring up the edit menu. Choose the delete option to remove the image and it's container. If you want to keep the image box with the placeholder you will instead need to replace the images.

Adjust Crop

To enter the mode where you can adjust the crop and zoom of the image, double tap it and you will see a sliding bar to adjust zoom. You can additionally drag the image around within the image box to adjust the position of the crop.

Rotate Images

Tap the image to select it, place two fingers on it, then turn your hand in the direction you want to rotate the object. After you start the rotation you can continue by dragging with a single finger. A guide appears to indicate the angle of the rotation.

Add New Image

Tap the plus button in the top right corner and make sure you are under the image tab. Tap Photo or Video. Navigate to the image you wish to choose and tap it. You can also copy/paste images from elsewhere.

Edit Image Position + Size

Tap the image to select it. Drag one of the blue control dots to resize the image. By default it will resize porportionally - if you want to scale without constraints you will need to tap the paintbrush icon in the top right in order to turn Constrain Proportionsoff.

Edit Photo Style

Tap the photo you wish to style, then tap the paintbrush icon in the top right to adjust the style of the image.

Text

Tap the thumbnail of the page you want the new page to follow, then tap the New Page button at the bottom of Page Thumbnails view.

Removing Pages

Tap the thumbnail of the page you want to remove, tap the thumbnail again, then tap Delete. (To select multiple plages, touch and hold one page as you tap other pages with a second finger, then lift your fingers.) To hide page thumbnails, swipe left across the thumbnails.

Duplicate Pages

In Page Thumbnails view, tap the page you want to copy, tap again, then tap Duplicate. The duplicate section or page is added after the original.

Edit Page Order

Touch and hold the thumbnail of the page you want to move, then drag it to where you want it. To hide Page Thumbnails view, swipe left across the thumbnails.

Tip: To rearrange more than one page, touch and hold one page as you tap other pages with a second finger, then lift your fingers and tap Cut. Tap the page thumbnail you want the content to follow, then tap Paste.
