Re: Is Premium printing available?

by PrestoPhoto Support, 30 Mar 2011 (17:30 UTC)

greetings from PrestoPhoto and thanks for your interest.

We don't have this as an option for Premium printing. You will still be happy with it :)

The paper that comes with this product is photo silk - this paper has a little bit of a shine. It is not the slick gloss of magazines or prints, and you have to turn the paper in the light to see the shine. The real benefit of this paper is that it has a protective coating so if you spill something on the book you have a second or two to get a towel to wipe the paper before the liquid sinks into the paper.

Hope this helps :)

The 12.5 x 10 Hardcover Portfolio book comes with Photo Silk paper which is produced using 80# text coated Xerox Digital Silk paper (like a gloss but not glossy) and are produced with a Xerox iGen, a toner based device. The digital silk paper is not the slick shiny gloss like you see in magazines. It provides a protective coating on the paper. The blacks stand out and the images crisp, but it won't be slick. Technical specs of the paper are Digital Color Silk - C2S, 90 bright.

how much do you charge for shipping in Ireland?

Re: shipping

by Kettie Mooney, 02 Sep 2010 (15:37 UTC)

Greetings from PrestoPhoto and thanks for your interest.

I'm afraid I can't give you an exact estimate for shipping. Ship time and cost depend on the ship to address, weight of package, and most importantly ship method selected. Thus, it is not possible to provide an accurate ship cost. Typically, you could expect to pay approximately $6 - $10 for shipping for one book within the US. However, that is a rough estimate.

We do offer a ship cost estimator on this page: http://www.prestophoto.com/wiki/Ship+Options+and+Delivery+Times
You would need to select the "Get a shipping quote right now" link. This quote is based on 1 40-page book so it is not accurate for, say, 500 books but it will give you a sense of the cost.

If your order total is over $30.00, we offer a flat rate ship cost of $7.99 for international shipping and $1.99 for domestic. This is a very slow ship method so don't use it if you are on a deadline. If time is not an issue then you may consider that option.

If you have the product in your account you can add it to your cart and view all our ship method options without having to complete the checkout process or give us credit card information.

Book Question

by Rosemary, 13 Jul 2010 (21:59 UTC)
I am about to order this book and I am designing it in Adobe Indesign. I was wondering if you could help me with a question I have regarding the spiral binding. I don't want the pictures or text in my book to be in the area where the binding will be- what dimensions would be considered in the safe zone so I can avoid this?

Re: Book Question

Greetings from PrestoPhoto and thanks for your interest.

Just upload your cover as normal and we'll take care of the rest :) We prefer one complete PDF or separate .jpg files. We recommend your images be at 300 dpi.

For all our trim sizes we recommend you make the cover images as well as the interior page images 1/4" larger than your book size. For example if you plan to create an 8.5x11 book the cover image as well as interior pages would be 8.75x11.25 (at 300 dpi).

Most importantly, keep all important items (people, heads, text, borders) away from the outer 1/2" on all sides.

If you have any questions please let us know!

What is the distance between the inside edge of the page and the outside of the binding? (about .25in?) I am trying to set my margins in InDesign so I can center my content within the "free area" as opposed to the entire page (which is partly obscured by the binding).
